Phaze launches new version of the Hydrocarbon Leak Detector
Phaze has recently completed the qualification of a new version of the Hydrocarbon Leak Detector (HLD). The new version has an instrument made from Titanium and is ROV retrievable. The retrievable system consists of a guide funnel and a cone that is kept together with springs.
The advantage with new Titanium version is that it does need to be part of the cathodic protection system of the X-mas tree. In addition the instrument is installed outside the XMT roof (the collector), where a ROV easily can access the instrument and retrieve it for inspection if requested.
The illustration shows how it typically could be installed.
